Tampa, Fla. (May 24, 2018) – As active business partners in the Tampa Bay area, the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce offers full support of the Tampa Bay Rays 2020 effort to keep baseball in Tampa Bay. Representing over 150 businesses in the community, the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce Board unanimously believes that the Tampa Bay Rays enhance the community, and like the local other professional sports teams, we recognize the role sports play as a regional economic driver and asset.
We believe that Tampa is the best possible location for a new state of the art ballpark that will help enhance an urban core that will allow Tampa Bay to compete with other communities throughout the country as an ideal location for businesses and talent. The proposed Ybor location which is accessible from the entire region, should allow for more fans to attend ans support baseball and the surrounding businesses.
Recognizing that the input from the business community is key to keeping the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa, the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce encourages our members to engage and support the effort. Our members are asked to show their support by signing the petition to keep the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa at TampaBayRays2020.com and consider showing their support to the team through tickets and sponsorship.
As a community, we understand the importance of support and the members of the West Tampa Chamber of Commerce are ready to do so. We encourage other business and community organization throughout Tampa Bay to do the same by showing their support for keeping the Rays in Tampa Bay.
